TRAINS AND CARS—SOME THOUGHTS

 In Uncategorized

In Houston, trains and cars ride on the same street. In the last month, two persons have been killed when they were hit by trains while riding their bicycles. It occurs to me that trains and cars are not meant to ride on the same street.

I was driving down the street downtown and looked up in my rearview mirror and saw a train behind me in my same lane. I became so nervous that I had to get off the street. Another time I was walking from the courthouse and decided to beat the car approaching. When I looked up and saw that it was a train and not a car, I hopped back up on the curb. I thought to myself: cars and trains are not meant to ride together as if they are equal. The two deaths in the last few weeks have proven this. It seems to me that it is a matter of time before we have more accidents and deaths. People should not act like cars are trains. Trains should not be treated like they are cars. Trains and cars riding on the same street are accidents waiting to happen. Someone should have thought of this when they built this system. Trains and cars are not meant to ride on the same streets. Just a few thoughts!
