PHIL BANKS AND SHANE PHELPS ARE NOT ATTICUS FINCH AND NEED TO RIGHT THEIR WRONGS

Phillip Banks and Shane Phelps are not Atticus Finch. They need to right the wrongs and they have done to hundreds if not thousands in the Texas judical system. They have been wrongfully incarcerating the innocent in Texas for years. Banks does not properly represent the court appointed clients he represents and Shane Phelps as a former prosecutor was responsible for the wrongful conviction of many.

Phil Banks was my standby counsel and Shane Phelps was the prosecutor in my  case.  They bear no resemblence to Atticus Finch. They need to right the wrongs that they have committed in their lifetime of wrongfully convicting and perhaps getting innocent people executed in Texas. Shane Phelps concealed evidence, lied, coached witnesses to commit perjury in my trial, altered and falsified evidence. They are part of the conspiracy that conducted a “secret trial in my case”. Texas conducts secret trials on criminal matters and no one seems to mind that the defendant is not involved in these secret trials. They deny due process and no one cares. The United States Supreme Court appears to give a wink and nod to these type of trials if the defendant is Black, Latino, brown and poor. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has been allowing these secret trials for many years now. They refuse to review these cases. Thus this practice continues in Texas. Judge Smith states that he has been “doing this” for approximately twenty five years or more. He stated that he had been “doing this” for fifteen years when I was prosecuted. This was ten years ago. Approximately ten years ago, Brazos County has been celebrating an Atticus Finch Day.  Brazos County is one of the most corrupt and racist counties in Texas. After my experience,  I would urge anyone who is assigned to Shane Phelps, Phillip Banks or Judge Steve Smith who is Black, brown, Latino or poor to obtain other representation or change judges. They will not receive a fair trial in Judge Smith’s court and Shane Phelps and Phillip Banks will not properly represent their interests. I do not want what happened to me with these men to happen to anyone else. Steve Smith has falsified records in my case, altered documents and generally denied me due process and a fair trial. Shane Phelps believes all Blacks are criminals based on his statement about me as “she has been a criminal all of her life, she just has not been caught. She is a Black isn’t she?”  This statement to me meant that all Blacks are criminal to him. Just being Black was my crime. I did not have to violate the law. Phil Banks did not represent my interest or advocate for me. He has a history of not representing other Black clients from what I heard of his reputation after my conviction. It was an insult to learn that these men, Phil Banks and Shane Phelps co-hosted an Atticus Finch Day in Brazos County. These are the last two men in the world to be associated with Atticus Finch. If the paper reported Micheal Morton’s speech to the group correctly, these men should have been embarrassed and ashamed to be in his presence. Atticus Finch stood for eliminating corruption in the judical system and equal justice for all. These men represent the antithesis of Atticus Finch and these ideals. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. People need to stay away from these men who now purport to represent people accused of crimes. When they see these three names they should run away as fast as their legs will carry them. Seek other legal help. The “help” they provide may be the end of you! Atticus Finch they are not!!!
