Leonard Loeb
Everyone needs a friend like Leonard Loeb. I do not know how I met Leonard Loeb. Someone referred him to me. We began to have almost weekly chats with him accepting my long distance calls because I could not pay for them. I do not know what made him talk to me for such a long time. Finally, he told me, “Hush your crying little girl. You are not wrong. You just have never had anyone represent your interests. Go to Marvin Resnick and tell him I sent you. Marvin is the best attorney I know. ” Within a month, I had a civil judgment. What Leonard taught me was that sometimes you need muscle and power to win. Marvin Resnick provided that for me at $500.00 an hour in 1979 when I was only making $14,000.00 a year. When I told him that Leonard told me that he was the best attorney he knew, he said, “Did he really say that?’ This affirmation meant a lot to him. At the time, I did not know why. I later saw an article in People Magazine in which Leonard Loeb had been interviewed and he was interviewed on television. I recognized the voice as my weekly friend. I was so shocked that I never called him again. He provided the support and help that I needed to keep going and to keep trying to improve. He and Dean Gibson are partly the reason I went back and completed law school. Everyone needs a listening ear and supporter like Leonard. I have tried to be that ear to others when given an opportunity. He was my inspiration.
