LeBron and KD—–Some Thoughts
LeBron James and KD are my new hero athletes for not being afraid to express their political opinions.
The Fox reporter insulted Lebron and KD by disparaging their education and intelligence and saying to them “shut up and dribble.”
LeBron James has four or more doctorates in basketball. He and KD have exceptional basketball intelligence quotients. His creative talent is basketball. He is unbelievably talented in that area and others.
I have not always been a LeBron fan. I have been a KD fan because he attended my school. I have watched LeBron develop as a player and watched how hard he worked and how much he achieved against all odds because of his basketball talent. He has earned the right so speak his mind. I am proud of him and KD for having his back. They are both correct about Donald Trump. He does not care about the people evidenced by the fact that he cut funds for women and children in third world countries and healthcare for women and children in America. He has decimated the EPA and destroyed safety and health and other regulations that protect people and the air and water. He has sold off government lands and authorized the drilling of oil in the oceans and shores again. He cut taxes for the rich by 1.7 trillion and proposed to reduce the safety net and made medicare cuts by 1.7 million. He wants to eliminate food stamps and send people food boxes to save money knowing that this will mean starvation or increase hunger in America. He has authorized toxins and hazardous waste be allowed to contaminate our water by reversing regulations to protect drinking water. Have we forgotten the pipeline issue? What about his policies and opinions about women, children and minorites and people of color and foreigners? There are other things that are too numerous to name at this time but there is ample evidence to indicate that he only cares about the rich and himself. Have we forgotten his conduct during Charlotteville when the Klu Klux Klan guys in klan hats and neo nazi were called “good people” despite the Klans history of domestic terrorism, murder, arson, lynching, rape and lawlessness. He has threatened to cut off funding to colleges who do not allow these groups to speak at colleges. These are racist groups who support white supremacy and separatism. He is trying to normalize hate crimes and hate speech. My question to the Fox reporter would be for her to point out something that Donald Trump has done to indicate he cares about anyone but himself. He has been goading countries and groups into war. Point out where KD and LeBron are wrong when they say that he does not care about the people or the country?
I support KD and LeBron for exercising their free speech and having an opinion about political issues. This is their right as American citizens. These guys are becoming my new heroes.
