Hello Hillary Clinton–Thoughts on resilience and perseverance

 In Uncategorized

Hello Hillary Clinton:

I thought I would write you a letter to say “Hi”.  I have never met you and probably never will. I watched the election and thought that I would like to say “hello” and to encourage you because I am now using you as my inspiration on resilience and perserverance.

I have never thought of white women as an inspiration other than Eleanor Rooservelt, the sufferage ladies and women from the civil war. The more I think of it, I do not know why I limited myself so much in the past. Black women are not the only women oppressed. After the election, I realized that you were my sister by another mother and I needed to acknowledge it.

I like the way you keep standing despite criticism. You keep fighting for the things you believe in and feel important. I did not connect with you until after the election. You did not seem authentic to me. Now, I feel that you have earned your stripes. You have come out in support of free college education or affordable education for all in recent months. This showed me that you are learning. You learn from your mistakes.

You were right to keep Bill. He shows a side of you that you are afraid to show. Your relationship shows your strength and resilience. You need to take your light from under a bushel basket and let it shine for the things that matter to you whether you ever run for office again. Your fight will make it possible for us to eventually have a female president. You have a voice and you should use it.  I voted for you because I thought you would listen to Bill and accept his advice on how to stimulate the economy. The election loss was unfortunate. I know that you were hurt and disappointed. I was so proud of how you handled the loss. I felt that I was seeing the real and authentic Hillary Clinton. Keep working on that Hillary. She is intriguing.

I just wanted to write you to say “Hello”. You are one of my greatest examples of resilence and perserverance. You keep standing and moving forward. This is an example girls and women can follow. I have not always agreed with you and I have not always supported you. I like your strength and fight. Keep fighting. Maybe we will meet someday. In the meantime, “Hello.”
