Barbara Walters–some thoughts

I saw the May 16, 2014 episode of The View and Barbara Walters–Her Story last week.  I was struck by how long I had followed her career and how important she has been in the lives of women in America.  I watched her on the Today Show and followed her career over the years.  I did not understand what was happening until I saw Her Story.  She was a trailblazer for women all over this country and not just female journalists.  When she got her million dollar salary, women began to demand higher salaries and better positions.  At one time only men were administrators in Social Work, we began to demand and obtain higher salaries and better positions.  Women can be grateful to her for pushing on when times were tough.  She earned respect.  I hope she continues to have a voice and uses it.  Wish her luck in her new transition to the last half of her life.  She has a special place in history for women in this country.
