The Alt-Right Who Spout White Nationalist Positions Are Racist and Conservative

The Alt-Right who espouse White Nationalist positions are conservative and racist.

I was talking to a white friend and I mentioned the “Hail Trump!” statement made by the leader of an Alt- right Group. This group makes white nationalist statements and takes white nationalist positions. My friend stated that the group was conservative and people are getting sick of people being called racist because they are conservative. Stating you are a white nationalist is not saying you are conservative. You are stating you are a conservative who is racist.

From Sociology 101,  we learned that racism is the belief in the superiority and inferiority of races such that on a continuum of one to ten the races can be so ordered….1,2.3…….  White nationalist believe the whites are superior and are number one on the continuum. In America, racism manifest itself in the discrimination based on that belief of superiority for benefits or privileges. The leader of that group was interviewed and he stated that racism does not mean anything. Everyone discriminates. This kind of thinking denies slavery, Jim Crow Laws and the constitution of this country which stated that one Black male was only to be counted as less than one whole white male (3/5th). All racist do not discriminate. All people who discriminate are not racist. This is what confuses people. They want to deny the history of racism in this country and want to justify a return to a time when they felt great–they were legally considered superior. They want us to forget Germany, the Nazi movement, and the Holocaust. This is not possible. A white nationalist may be conservative but he is also a text book racist. Nothing can change this. We may selectively hear what we want to hear but racist statements should not be condoned and cleansed by calling the speaker a conservative. If you are making racist statements and urging white supremacy, you are a textbook racist. You should be condemned. My friend wants to justify support of Donald Trump despite his election conduct and statements and his support of the Alt-right by saying we are vilifying conservatives.  This defense will not fly. White Supremacist are more than conservatives; they are racist. We cannot deny and overlook the long history of white supremacists all over the world. They are textbook racists. We should call them what they are. They are evil and racist. We cannot accept their positions as normal and acceptable. There is a difference between having discriminating taste and being a racist or white supremacist. Being a racist and white supremacist means something and has historical implications. We must never forget the holocaust or slavery. White supremacist may be conservatives but they are also textbook racist and should be condemned for their racism. We should not try to normalize racism in America by calling white nationalism conservatism.
